How NOT to wear hijab

Becoming a hijabi means changing the way we are used to dressing. There is a right and wrong way of covering.

"O children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc) and as an adornment. But the raiment of righteousness, that is better." [Noble Quran 7:26]

Click on the image to see some of the things NOT to do as a hijabi. Remember that you are representing all Muslim women and all of Islam when you present yourself in public. As the point of hijab is to protect against men's looks and to preserve modesty, tight clothing, excessive make-up etc is not in the spirit of hijab.

Hijab is a process for some. If you are struggling, then just pick one area and focus on changing that, you'll soon find yourself in a new habit of correct hijab inshallah.

Hijab Styles

Salam ladies!

I've decided to feature some tips on how to wear hijab. Remember, that hijab is not a fashion statement but I empathise with hijabis (especially new ones who feel self conscious with the change from non-hijabi to hjiabi). I hope that this will help sisters  feel more comfortable and go about their daily lives feeling more confident, inshallah.

What's the purpose of

Daily Dua

Assalamwalikum After a loooong hiatus Hijabi in the City is BACK! I still get a lot of visitors to the blog, despite the lack of updates, and the most popular posts are the ones that detail where to buy hijabs online and the Islamic duas, mashallah. I'm grateful to Allah Azzawajal that the blog is a benefit, alhumdulillah. I recently discovered a new site that provides duas and I've included the link to the daily duas below, which I think are very useful. http://www.digitaldua.com/index.php/daily-duasa It's important that we remember Allah SWT in our daily lives. This is a form of ibadah and keep us close to Allah SWT. Also if we remember Allah in every gathering, He will remember us in a better gathering. Try and learn one dua by heart then move on to another.
Jazakallahkhair for your continued support. Spread the word about the blog and inshallah I'll be back with more useful posts! Was salaam Alaikum
